How To Train Your Dragon 3 Fans Are Ugly Crying Over The Hidden World

There are a few major storylines that are wrapping up this year, and the most talked about ones are Avengers: Endgame and Star Wars: Episode: IX. However, there's another beloved series that's closing the door and it's just right around the corner. How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World will be the final adventure of Hiccup and Toothless and early fan reactions are in: You are going to cry your damn eyes out.

Since 2010, fans have followed the vikings and dragons of Berg across numerous movies and TV shows, but all of that comes to a close -- at least for now -- in How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World. The film has already been teased to have a satisfying but sad ending, so fans have been warned to feel some strong emotion once the credits roll.

Fans clamored to attend early screenings of the film, and those who have seen it are racing to Twitter to share their thoughts. WARNING: There are spoilers on Twitter that I really would rather have not seen, so be careful navigating your feed when searching the movie.

Early reactions are overwhelming positive. Fans of the series absolutely love this movie and the general consensus is that you will leave the theaters in desperate need of tissues.

Of course, it's not all just tears. One fan has nothing but praise for The Hidden World, writing that it was a perfect "gut punch" ending to series and that it had beautiful animation.

Critics took to social media earlier this year to share their own impressions, and it lines up very well with what fans are saying. Fans can tend to be a little bit more enthusiastic about movies they've seen, but How to Train Your Dragon has always been an incredibly solid series with positive reviews. It looks like that didn't change much at all for The Hidden World.

How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World is written and directed by Dean DeBlois. The film stars the voices of Jay Baruchel, America Ferrera, Cate Blanchett, Craig Ferguson, Jonah Hill, Kit Harington and F. Murray Abraham. The plot follows Hiccup, now the leader of Berg, and Toothless as they encounter a new enemy that could bring an end to their human and dragon utopia. Meanwhile, the duo also meet a potential mate for Toothless.

How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World is all set to arrive in theaters on February 22, 2019. Unless I'm mistaken, Suicide Squad is meant to be a covert, hit squad-type group of people set to take out terrorists and people like that. For me, a film like this would need to be somewhat gritty and serious for it to truly work. Knowing what James Gunn can do, I think he can be able to do it, whilst still making the film his own :-)
